Create HyperText Link Anchors provide the method for linking documents on WWW. Clicking on a section of text (also called HyperText) causes the browser to load the linked document. An anchor consists of a word or phrase surrounded by anchor tags, the first tag enclosing the hypertext reference ("HREF") or link to the remote document. See A Beginner's Guide to HTML for more information on anchors. To create an anchor, select the word or phrase which you intend to become the HyperText (or "hot") text, then choose Create HyperText Link from the Anchor menu. The default URL displayed in the dialog box is the same as that selected from the URL PopUp Menu, which provides a list of all documents in the editor, as well as the master list found on the Preferences card. Use the default or type the URL to be used as the linked document into the dialog box. Images can be used as links by imbedding the IMG tag between the beginning and ending anchor tags, such as Back to Anchor menu, or return to Contents.
